Alongkorn Trachoo graduated in Engineering from Kasetsart University in 1974, and Architecture from Chulalongkorn University in 1979. Since he was studying, he has been interested in various kinds of art; poetry, perspective rendering, and also received awards in the graphic design, cartoon drawing, and painting competitions. In 1978, he was a member of Chulalongkorn University's architecture student team who won the Grand Prize (Kenzo Tange Award) of the international design competition "Administrative Space" in Mexico City organized by The International Union of Architects (UIA).
After gaining experience in structural & architectural design, construction supervision while working for a government agency and architectural design firms for 7 years, he founded Area Co., Ltd. in 1983.
As a leader of the firm, Alongkorn received awards for Ruang-Wa Standard Industry project (1987), and Ratchada Pavilion Condominium project (1994) from The Association of Siamese Architects (ASA). Area Co., Ltd. has been awarded in many design competitions as a designer of the project owned by various organizations.
